Sensient Technologies is a global B2B food technology company that helps customers to make their products tastier and their ingredient lists more appetizing through their various food solutions. Sensient is also known as being a leader in food colors.
Competitive Analysis
I completed a competitive analysis for the savory division by first meeting with the marketing, product management, and sales teams to develop a list of key competitors to research.
After identifying key competitors, I utilized website research to create a SWOT analysis and found articles and press releases from recent years to see what each competitor’s technological focuses were. I also looked at competitors social media presence to see what type of content they were marketing.
I was then able to attend IFT Chicago, and took note of common technological themes displayed at the trade show.
Lastly, I used customer VOCs to determine the wants and needs of customers.
Putting all of these resources together, I was able to identify main industry themes as well as how Sensient’s technology compared to competitors. I was also able to make recommendations based on these findings, which were later used in strategy meetings.
Case Studies
Working closely with R&D, product management, and sales I put together a series of case studies for a new technology the company was selling
Using my knowledge from previous work experiences, I was able to help identify and verify common pain points for the new technology; these pain points were also echoed by customer VOCs as well as testimonials from the sales team
Working with R&D, I was able to identify previous use cases where this technology had solved the common pain points customers had, as well as gain supportive data for how the technology advanced the end product.
To create the case studies, I used a problem, solution, resolution format for a cohesive end product that conveyed easy to follow data storytelling.
These case studies were used in a market that the company had not yet broken in to!
Infographics & Newsletter
Worked with the marketing team to create infographics and newsletters relating to new technology for the company to showcase as well as trends in the food industry
To find supporting details for these trends, I used tools such as Mintel, Technomics, Tastewise, and Datassentials
For the company newsletter, I used website research to find recent articles and studies and wrote the copy detailing the article contents
These projects were used for email marketing
